Is this real?!

Well I had my first round with heartburn last night. I never get heartburn. Hopefully I won't get it much!!

So I forgot to mention that at my appointment on Tuesday, the doctor took me off of the Metformin! So now the only pill I take is my prenatal! Yay!

I still feel like "is this REALLY happening?!" Wonder when I'll stop feeling that way. I even get nervous when people say anything to me about being pregnant... not because I'm afraid I'll loose it, but because I don't think I've fully processed the fact that I am indeed pregnant! Last night the Mr. and I went to dinner and in the middle of some conversation we were having he said something like, "and you are pregnant..." and I said, "SHHH!" haha I don't even know why! I guess I just feel like the more people that know the more real it is. And it doesn't feel real to me yet...

Does that even make sense?? I am loosing it aren't I? :)

I think I'm going to have to tell my boss tomorrow. On one hand I'm thinking, why not?! on the other I'm thinking, I want to wait until 10 weeks or so! At my job we put on a really big show every year in March. We are only a staff of 8 so we all have to work overtime and over the weekend of the show. My boss will be doing the schedule for that next week. I figure if I tell her on Friday then hopefully she'll schedule me the earlier shifts because after lunch I am just exhausted! I am really nervous to tell her! I am worried she is going to say something to make me mad - she isn't the sensitive type... and she has no idea about our infertility issues.

Anyway, just needed to ramble some! Tomorrow's Friday!!

  2. I am almost 12 weeks and have seen the baby several times and it doesn't seem real to me yet either! Even with his arms waving at me I still am in shock. =)

  4. Trust me, it won't start to feel "real" for a while. I'm now at 15 weeks and it still doesn't feel real to me. It's crazy. As for the heartburn, drink a glass of milk or eat some yogurt when it starts. It helps calm it down.

  5. I'm 18 weeks and it doesn't feel real yet! Maybe when I find out the gender and feel movement... Honey worked wonders for me when I had heartburn (pre-pregnancy) and my doc told me I could have honey while pregnant. I just downed a spoonful whenever it hurt (or at least once a day even when it didn't hurt), even though I hate the stuff! Hope you don't get it often. :)

  6. are you going off the metformin gradually?

I was on 2000/per day and the RE told me around wk 6 I could gradually go off it, since it doesn't help anymore. Maybe it's superstition but I've been really reluctant to get off of it. Right now I'm down to 1000/per day and thinking I'll stay on it remainder of my first tri (another 2 wks)... Just makes me feel better :)

And I'm also sitting here wondering when it starts feeling "real"... maybe once we start showing??

  7. You are not losing it at all, I felt the same way (or maybe I lost it too, haha jk). I think it's a totally normal response to pregnancy after IF. It took my until after probably about 13 weeks to not react with "Shh!" when someone mentioned it. I'm so happy for you! Hope you boss works with you on the scheduling

  9. No, you're not losing it and...YES!! It is real! I know exactly how you feel though...we're nearly 23 weeks and it STILL doesn't feel real to me sometimes. :) I know it's the IF talking for me.

So happy that things are going well for you. :) Praying that your boss is understanding and that the coming weeks at work arent' too hard on you.
